Team Info: This is not an official “Level Up” team. Its just coached by the owner. This is a new team for 2010 players only. All athletic girls even without softball experience are welcome to try out. We will be committed to improving and becoming an excellent team. Practices will be twice per week during Winter except for a two week break around Christmas/New Year holiday. First tournament will likely be in March. Accelerated league start in Orem. Pricing will be given after tryouts. After initial uniform and association fees, typical tournament fees are $50/month. Coaches are not being paid for time but are very committed.
Coaching Style: I (Adam Evans) will be the head coach. I coached a 14u team last year that stuck together. Did not rely on pickup players and won 56 games. I believe whatever a person sets out to do, they should try to do or learn it the best they can. To become excellent will be the expectation. I am very vocal when I coach, but I am not a “screamer.” I believe screaming and yelling can produce results on the field, but there are even better ways to teach that will help kids become great and learn to love the game. If you want a “screamer,” I’m not the guy. If you want a coach that cares about every player, makes clear expectations, constantly teaches, and insists on effort, then I should be a good fit.
